Home care is not only a less expensive alternative to nursing homes — it’s also usually much healthier for your parent’s mental and physical health. Most people know about nursing homes, but there are actually several options for long-term care for your loved ones.
Many seniors see nursing homes as a place where you go to die and become very depressed when they get there. One of the toughest decisions you’ll probably face is deciding how to care for an aging parent. While it can be difficult, if you make an informed decision you’re likely to find a decision that works well for you and your parent.

When we age, some things become more difficult to attend to. Case in point — your feet. Arthritis or other health conditions make it hard to bend over and the feet can get neglected. Dry cracked heels are unattractive, but more importantly they can become a health problem. Eventually fissures can form and lead to an infection. Don’t let it go to that point. There are quite a few things you can do to take care of your feet.

Once your knees start to hurt, it seems like nothing brings relief. Sitting or standing at work, your knees can take a beating. A bank teller, teacher, retail clerk, or crossing guard can spend hours standing without relief.
